So he popped the question!? And now you're ready to announce to the world that you said yes and that you're getting married?! Well -- you're in the right place.

Engagement pictures are so fun and exciting as you anticipate the wedding and marriage that is to come. I adore getting to know couples in this stage and watching them adore each other! One of my favorite parts is finding places that reflect the personality of a couple. I'm all about natural beauty and a location that enhances the story to be told.

I've done quite a few engagement shoots and man, there are some GORGEOUS places out there. Lucky for those of you in the Colorado area, I've narrowed them down to my top 7 spots (in no particular order)!

Let's do this thing.

  1. Paint Mines Interpretive Park. Remember when I mentioned a wow factor? These white, pink, and orange rocks make for from-another-world pictures. When I think 'unique' my mind goes straight to Paint Mines. The trail is about an hour drive outside of Colorado Springs and worth every mile.
  2. Rock Mountain National Park. If scenes of mountains, trees, ponds, and blue skies sound ideal to you, then this is your place. Between Bear Lake, Sprague Lake, Lily Lake, and Trail Ridge Road, the classic greens and blues will be make oh so framable pictures. To all my photographers: like most places on this list, you'll need a permit to shoot here!
  3. Devil's Backbone. This is an epic landscape with iconic rocks atop rolling hills. Need I say more? Located in Loveland, your pictures are guaranteed to feel larger than life.
  4. Chautauqua Park. This Boulder, CO park offers a serene and classic Colorado view. You simply can't go wrong with that mountain backdrop. Bonus: depending on the season, fields of flowers might be in bloom!
  5. Garden of the Gods. This is another place with iconic rock structures and amazing views. Think orange hues from the rock with a rich green palette from rolling hills of trees. Thank you Colorado Springs for this one!
  6. Red Rocks Park. You've all seen concerts at the amphitheater, buuut engagement pictures at this park are a jaw dropper. Trust me on this one!
  7. Great Sand Dunes. This southern Colorado national park makes for some of my favorite pictures of all time. The neutral, minimalist, rolling sand dunes couldn't be a better backdrop if they tried. This is another location that channels the from-another-world vibes. And we're SO here for it.

Feeling less stressed about your location search? Colorado has so much to offer, and taking advantage of its noteworthy spots for sweet engagement shoots is always a win.

Have another spot in mind? I'm ALWAYS up for an adventure. Let's make some magic!
